W-Merkmal, Wichtiges Merkmal
Bei einem wichtigen Merkmal handelt es sich um eine Produkteigenschaft, die in aller Regel mit Funktionen und / oder Passungen zu tun hat. So kann es zum Beispiel vorkommen, dass - auch wenn alle Maße zeichnungsgerecht ausgeführt worden sind - der Kunde trotzdem innerhalb der zulässigen Toleranz Qualitätsunterschiede erkennen kann. Bei diesen Produkteigenschaften wird dann angestrebt, dass die betroffenen Maße möglichst so ausgeführt werden, dass der Kunde ein möglichst optimales Ergebnis geliefert bekommt.

An important feature is a product property that usually has to do with functions and/or fits. For example, it can happen that - even if all dimensions have been executed according to the drawing - the customer can still recognize quality differences within the permissible tolerance. In the case of these product characteristics, the aim is then to ensure that the dimensions concerned are executed in such a way that the customer receives the best possible result.
