Europäische Standards sind nummeriert und beginnen mit EN.Außerdem gibt es länderspezifische Organisationen, die Standards beschließen, z.B. nationale Standardorganisation in USA: - American National Standards Institute (ANSI)- Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)- Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA)- Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)- National Institute of Standards (NIST).In Großbritannien ist dies das BSI (Britisch Standards Institution), in Deutschland ist dies das Deutsche Institut für Normung, das Deutsche Industrie Normen (DIN), wie z.B. DIN A 4, herausbringt. DIN-Standards sind nummeriert und beginnen mit DIN.Diese Organisationen sind gleichzeitig Mitglieder der ISO und bringen dort national Standards zur Internationalisierung ein.
