Ein Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart (CAPTCHA) ist ein Sicherheitscode-Skript für Formulare in PHP, bestehend aus Zahlen und Buchstaben, die zum Teil animiert sind. Ein Captcha ist eine Möglichkeit auszuschließen, dass Roboter im Internet sich automatisch zu Seiten anmelden können. Daher sind die einzelnen Buchstaben etwas verschlungen und vor einem meistens recht undefiniertem Hintergrund dargestellt.

Therefore the single letters are a little bit interlaced and displayed in front of a mostly quite undefined background.
