Zielsetzung dieser Methode ist es, die Optimierung von Prozessen und Systemen so effizient wie möglich zu gestalten. In mehreren geplanten Versuchen werden Einflussgrößen auf den Prozess bzw. das System gezielt variiert, um in Bezug auf eine oder mehrere definierte Zielgrößen ein Optimum zu suchen (z.B. optimale Kombination von Einspritzdüse, Gemisch, etc. um eine möglichst verbrauchsgünstige Verbrennung zu erzielen). Grundlage der Methode sind statistische Verfahren zur Maximierung der Informationsnutzung aus Versuchen, die zur gezielten Planung einer Folge von Versuchen und deren Auswertung dienen.
Design of Experiments
"The objective of this method is to make the optimization of processes and systems as efficient as possible. In several planned experiments, influencing variables on the process or system are specifically varied in order to search for an optimum in relation to one or more defined target variables (e.g. optimum combination of injection nozzle, mixture, etc. in order to achieve the most fuel-efficient combustion possible). The method is based on statistical procedures to maximize the use of information from tests, which are used for the targeted planning of a sequence of tests and their evaluation.
