Unter diesem Namen sind die gleichlautenden deutschen (DIN) und internationalen (ISO) Normen 9000 bis 9004 und die europäischen (EN) Normen 29000ff. für die Qualitätssicherung im Produktions- und Dienstleistungsbereich bekannt geworden. Sie umfassen ein Begriffssystem, die Darlegung von Elementen der Qualitätssicherung in unterschiedlichen Ausbaustufen und Empfehlungen zum Aufbau eines Qualitätssicherungssystems sowie eine Anleitung zur Verwendung der Normen selbst. Die vorgeschlagenen Qualitätssicherungssysteme umfassen z.B. die Festlegung von Verantwortlichkeiten, die Definition der Entwicklungs- und Prüfungsdokumente, die Dokumentation der Prüfverfahren und die Überprüfung von Verträgen. Für die Softwareentwicklung sind vor allem die Normen 9000 (Begriffssystem und Anwendungshinweise) sowie 9004 („Leitfaden für Dienstleistungen“) wichtig.

Under this name the identically named German (DIN) and international (ISO) standards 9000 to 9004 and the European (EN) standards 29000ff. for quality assurance in the production and service sector have become known. They comprise a system of terms, the presentation of elements of quality assurance in different stages of development and recommendations for the establishment of a quality assurance system as well as instructions for the use of the standards themselves. The proposed quality assurance systems include, for example, the definition of responsibilities, the definition of development and testing documents, the documentation of testing procedures and the review of contracts. For software development, the standards 9000 (system of terms and application notes) and 9004 ("Guide for services") are particularly important.
